Welcome to our Blog! We will be chronicling our journey toward retirement–including building our growing old together home, the evolution of Don’s dream of being a (mini)farmer in retirement, and Michele’s unknown-at-the-moment adventures in retirement. Don is currently an IT geek that works from home for a bank and Michele is a nursing professor at the local university. Our plans are to retire by 2025.     This past weekend Don and I took a trip to Bryson City in southwestern NC. Whenever we travel to this part of the state, we always comment about how the mountains look much taller than Boone, although they are around 1500 feet lower than our Ball Branch property, which clocks in at around 3900 feet.……
